With the release of Phase 2 players will be able to level up to level 40, which means more zones and dungeons will be available. Look forward to leveling through zones like Stranglethorn Vale, Arathi Highlands and Thousand Needles, and running the Razorfen Kraul and Scarlet Monastery dungeons.
New content being added in Phase 2 of Season of Discovery:

- New Leveling Experience – Increased experience in the Blackfathom Deeps Level-Up Raid and 50% increased experience gain up to level 25
- New Level-Up Raid – 10-man version of Gnomeregan
- Updated Loot and New Item Sets – Gnomeregan items get an Epic refresh
- New Class Runes – Engrave your belt and boots
- New Class Utility – Skill Books will drop in Dungeons
- New Profession Items – Crafted gear and consumables
- New World PvP Event – Beware the Blood Moon in Stranglethorn Vale
Rune Engraving in Season of Discovery:
Rune Engraving adds a new skill line for all existing Classic classes. By applying Runes to equipment, you’ll be able to add improvements to existing abilities or even add whole new capabilities that expand the very definition of your class.
- All characters will know Rune Engraving on character creation.
- The system will start at level 25 with 3 total Rune slots for your Chest Robe, Pants, and Gloves. After Level 25, you’ll be able to open new slots in other gear types over time.
- Additional rune slots unlock over time, either adding new slots to a single item or opening slots on other gear items.
- You will be able to swap out Runes at will while out of combat.
- Runes are separate from the talent system, allowing you to add abilities outside your normal skill set.
- Some Paladin and Shaman runes will provide formerly faction-specific buffs.
- Runes are assigned to specific slots. You cannot assign a Glove rune to Pants, for example.
