\u00a0Shadowmourne<\/a>\u00a0is a legendary axe that is the counterpart to Frostmourne, the blade of the\u00a0The Lich King<\/a>. Forged with the blood of an Old God, fragments of the Frozen Throne, and souls of the dead, Shadowmourne is a weapon born of evil. To obtain and wield Shadowmourne, players must be at least level 80, friendly with\u00a0The Ashen Verdict<\/a>, and be a Death Knight, Paladin, or Warrior.<\/p>\n

Obtaining Shadowmourne<\/h3>\n

The questline to forge Shadowmourne begins by the Death Knight, Paladin, or Warrior player reaching friendly with\u00a0The Ashen Verdict<\/a>. After reaching friendly, the player must speak with\u00a0Highlord Darion Mograine<\/a>\u00a0within the\u00a0Icecrown Citadel<\/a>\u00a0raid to obtain the quest\u00a0\u00a0The Sacred and the Corrupt<\/a>\u00a0which requires players to obtain\u00a0\u00a0Light’s Vengeance<\/a>,\u00a0\u00a0Primordial Saronite<\/a>x25,\u00a0\u00a0Festergut’s Acidic Blood<\/a>, and\u00a0\u00a0Rotface’s Acidic Blood<\/a>. With the reagents gathered, the player returns to Morgraine and completes the quest\u00a0\u00a0Shadow’s Edge<\/a>\u00a0to obtain\u00a0\u00a0Shadow’s Edge<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With Shadow’s Edge forged, the player will need to feed the weapon souls of the Lich King’s minions in the quest\u00a0\u00a0A Feast of Souls<\/a>\u00a0and then empower the weapon by completing\u00a0\u00a0Unholy Infusion<\/a>,\u00a0\u00a0Blood Infusion<\/a>, and\u00a0\u00a0Frost Infusion<\/a>. Once the weapon has been empowered, the player will then need to pick up the quest\u00a0\u00a0The Splintered Throne<\/a>\u00a0which requires them to collect\u00a0\u00a0Shadowfrost Shard<\/a>\u00a0x50 by killing bosses in the 25 player or 25 heroic version of the\u00a0Icecrown Citadel<\/a>\u00a0raid.<\/p>\n

Finally, once the shards have been obtained,\u00a0\u00a0Shadowmourne<\/a>\u00a0will be forged for the player to wield.<\/p>\n

Bonus Rewards<\/h3>\n

After obtaining\u00a0\u00a0Shadowmourne<\/a>, Mograine gives the player one final quest:\u00a0\u00a0The Lich King’s Last Stand<\/a>. Following the encounter with\u00a0The Lich King<\/a>, the player will loot\u00a0\u00a0Sealed Chest<\/a>\u00a0which contains several notable items relating to Arthas:\u00a0\u00a0Alexandros’ Soul Shard<\/a>,\u00a0\u00a0Arthas’ Training Sword<\/a>,\u00a0\u00a0Badge of the Silver Hand<\/a>,\u00a0\u00a0Blood of Sylvanas<\/a>, and\u00a0\u00a0Jaina’s Locket<\/a>. Each item within the crate begins a very short quest which culminates into the following special rewards:<\/p>\n
