Zones in World of Warcraft: Midnight
Midnight brings us back to the ancient lands of Quel’Danas, located in the north of the Eastern Kingdoms. Silvermoon City has been fully rebuilt and will serve as the player hub for the expansion. Players will level to 90 across four zones, both new and reimagined. The following sections will give a small preview of each zone and what they have to offer.
Silvermoon City
Silvermoon City is the player hub city for the Midnight expansion. The newly rebuilt Silvermoon City includes new areas like the Sanctum of Light and Memorial Garden. The Scourge Invasion is now in the past, and the surrounding lands have been revived and repaired.
-
Certain areas of the city will remain accessible by Horde players only.
Eversong Woods
Our first experiences in Midnight begins in Eversong Woods. This zone is expanded to include areas of the original Eversong Woods, Ghostlands, and the Isle of Quel’Danas. All three zones are combined and have healed from the previous wounds caused by the Scourge.
-
Midnight’s story opens with the Defense of the Sunwell against Xal’atath and her forces, following on from the opening cinematic.
-
Threats in Eversong include the forces of the Void, the Lightbloom (a magical overgrowth), the return of the Amani trolls, and cultists that serve the Void.
-
Zone Event: Silvermoon Court – Players achieve balance between four reputations, inspired by the Scryers vs. Aldor in Burning Crusade.
-
3 Zone Delves: Parhelion Plaza, Collegiate Calamity, and The Shadow Enclave
-
3 Zone Dungeons: Windrunner Spire, Magister’s Terrace, and Murder Row
Zul’Aman
Originally a TBC raid, Zul’Aman serves as a new zone for Midnight. This ancestral land of the Forest Tribes contains ancient forests and mountains teeming with wildlife.
-
Zul’Aman features four Loa temples: Eagle, Lynx, Dragonhawk, and Bear.
-
Players will meet two new leaders of the Amani: Zul’jarra and Zul’jan, grandchildren of Zul’jin.
-
At the center of this zone is a fully rebuilt and modernized Atal’Aman, the setting of the original raid against Warlord Zul’jin.
-
Zone Event: Abundance – harvest materials for the Loa of Abundance. This is a profession-themed treasure room event. Gathering professions are not required to participate. There are Abundance caves in all four zones.
-
3 Zone Delves: The Darkway, Twilight Crypts, and Atal’Aman
-
2 Zone Dungeons: Den of Nalorakk, and Maisara Caverns
Harandar
Harandar is the homeland of the new Haranir Allied Race. This zone features a primordial, fungal jungle, built around the roots of the World Trees.
-
All types of life are derived from the plant matter that spans this zone, including fungal towers, moss bridges, and bioluminescent wildlife.
-
All life and structures are centered around the roots of the Trees.
-
Bioluminescent wildlife provides the lighting throughout the zone.
-
Zone Event: Legends of the Haranir – Step into the forgotten past of the Harati tribe, using magical paintings to complete a scenario and learn lore.
-
2 Zone Delves: The Grudge Pit, and The Gulf of Memory
-
One Zone Dungeon: Blinding Vale
Voidstorm
The Voidstorm, a distant and chaotic world filled with void energy, is our final destination when leveling through Midnight.
-
Creatures throughout the zone fight to consume both the heroes of Azeroth and each other.
-
Players will encounter stormfields, low gravity, and three massive Nexus Points which devour the Void energy of the land.
-
Zone Event: Stormarion Assault – Protect Void Elves as they activate their Singularity Anchor to purge the citadel of remnant void anomalies. This wave defense event consists of both combat and fortifying defenses.
-
3 Zone Delves: Shadowguard Point, Sunkiller Sanctum, and Torment’s Rise
-
2 Zone Dungeons: Voidscar Arena, and Nexus-Point Xenas
-
New Zone Raid: The Voidspire
